Creating images about, not of, creating questions, not understandings, seeking contemplation, not interpretation.
Ed’s vision set its focus on a collection of interesting and admirable subjects, elevating the subconscious, heightening creative energies, and inspiring us down creative, imaginative pathways.
It’s these various journeys that make us unique. These are our visions, our stories, ourselves. We display our creative works on walls to share with our guests.
What drew Ed to photography is the ability to capture an instant in time, allowing him and the viewer to revisit that moment countless times reiterating the emotions, thoughts, and interests. His intent, however, is not to recreate merely but to articulate his artistic interpretation towards envisioning the moment, letting it engulf us, begging us to take a closer look. It is this interpretation that will have you questioning how Ed accomplished this, drawing you further into his work for an even more intimate contemplation.
Ed’s inspiration comes from the love of being outdoors in nature for he is an avid outdoors person. His second home is on the trails and streams, hiking and paddling his way to nowhere, following his passion for chasing small Brook Trout in the streams of the Northeast.
Ed has fully embraced the digital age of photography, using all its tools it has to offer to create his artistic interpretation of our world. Over time, Ed has developed his techniques in digital manipulation, taking his work to new and exhilarating denotations.
His technique is an intermingling of filters, brush strokes and adjustments layered and then blended together to create distinctive paint like renditions of his photography. During these processes, Ed employs varying ways to manipulate light, color, and texture creating his artistic revelation of a landscape, portrait or event.
